Audio Interconnect Cable: Cusat50 1.0mt
[Supplied as separate 'dual mono' - also available as jacketed 'stereo' pair]
If it sounds too good to be true then it isn't true... or any good!
The Cusat50 optimises the conditions for your equipment to perform at its best, which is more than can be said for most interconnect cables on the market today!
The Cusat50 is copper rich and therefore highly conductive. The most highly conductive part of it is the shield which ensures proper grounding together of both pieces of equipment. Why should this be important? The ground of any single sided piece of equipment (unbalanced that is), is the reference point of the audio signal - if both ends floated due to resistance there would be no reference, simple! The result would be a loss of definition, loose and limp sounding bass, blurred highs, and even worse - hum and radio pick-up!
The Cusat50 is double shielded. It's the only interconnect to give you the lowest interference levels in vinyl based systems. In any system it contributes absolutely nothing to the back drop.
The Cusat50 is ultra-low capacity. At 56pf per metre it removes the heavy capacitive load found with other interconnects. Because we design and manufacture audio electronics too, we know quite a lot about how high capacity cables change the characteristics of preamp output stages - they rob it of phase and gain margin. Yes, those trendy cables do exactly what people tell you - they give a too good to be true explosive image - quite breathtaking in fact. And that's because your preamp, CD output, DAC or phono stage is fighting a losing battle to maintain its integrity. Eventually that loss of integrity becomes a breakdown, or your ears get fed up with the too good to be true sound.
The Cusat50 interconnect like most cables is directional. In "double blind tests" and in our opinion it can be shown to bring great stability to the stereo image and solidity of sound when used in the direction marked, especially with highly post-produced music such as rock and pop. We invite any consumer group to investigate this claim!
The Cusat50 interconnect gets the Cu part of its name because all conductors are copper: the signal conductor, the shield braid and the 100% foil shield. As most recorded music is mastered to give the best results using interconnects using copper conductors it stands to reason that copper will reproduce it much the same.
The properties of the Cusat50 interconnect should also benefit digital and video sources so they're available as single cables too - see our shop pages for details.
And finally, do you see the phono plugs we use? You can buy a set of four of these same plugs elsewhere for not much less than one of our complete interconnects - the only difference is ours don't have a name printed on them... Oh, and ours have wire between them ready to use! - the Cusat50 interconnect is truly a great bargain!
